By far the most ambitious Heathen Call release. Only 500 copies of this handcrafted album were made. The first 300 copies come with a commemorative wall hanging, also created by hand.

Beer-soaked Americana with a whiskey nightcap. Life was tough when this was recorded, yet the times were fun. The band at this time was really clicking, and we all found a bit of reprieve in each other from our personal hells.

Unfortunately, there was never an official release for this album. There is a remix and a mastering job planned for this, but until then, you hear it in its' charming, raw state.

In Seed was recorded in a block of 28 hours in March of 2007 with Graig Markel in Seattle at the Recovery Room., back when he was recording out of his tiny basement. We had a lot of fun, and I think this E.P. came out way better than Graig and I thought it would. Graig is really good at what he does in the studio. I highly recommend him.

This limited edition hand-packaged release does not use plastic. It is comprised of screen-printed 1/8" Baltic birch wood and fabric tape.

Quirky rock with an unusual pop sensibility. Recorded by Greg Williamson, mostly on a Tascam cassette eight-track. At first, the album was just going to be me with a guitar, so I didn't use a tuner or a click track; then we bought a Pro Tools Digi 001 and went in the polar opposite direction. Getting this finished was like bringing Frankenstein to life.

Recorded by Greg Williamson in various basements on a Tascam cassette eight-track. After hearing what he did for Jeremy Enigk on Return of the Frog Queen, I asked him to spin some of that magic on American Gothic. So, we wound up smoking A LOT of pot and getting weird. Part of me wishes this album were a bit more sonically sound, but I do love the intimate, raw nature it captured. The album art posted here is not from the original packaging. That was a whole other production, and if you happen to have a copy of it, I'd like to buy it back from you! I don't have a copy, and I think it came out nicely.

It was great fun to collect the field recordings that were used on this album. American Gothic Part 3 captures a most wonderful night for me and was the beginning of a special love affair with a lifelong friend. Everyone has a sweet spot from their youth, this is the soundtrack to mine.
